Dan Lehy
Dan Lehy is a 3D illustrator based in the Netherlands, specializing in designing home accessories that add artistic accents to living spaces. Throughout his professional career, Dan worked as a graphic designer, creating artwork for commercial purposes. After transitioning out of that field, he decided to follow his dream of producing independent artistic creations in his own studio.
Blending techniques
Blending a passion for modern innovation with a deep appreciation for traditional craftsmanship, Dan combines old and new techniques to create a style uniquely his own. This approach allows him the freedom to bring his ideas to life while making his work accessible to a broad audience.

Inspiration
Dan uses 3D-print technique to create the models that serves as his canvas. Rather than simulating spatial forms through traditional painting techniques, he directly edits and paints the physical structure, turning it into a tangible 3D illustration.

Plaster surface
Style
Using his own custom plaster formula, the sculptures are given a rough texture that creates a diffuse reflection, allowing incoming light to be reflected to multiple angles. The result is softer shadows and transitions.

Tracing materials
Sustainability
The materials are carefully chosen for their sustainability. For instance, "Elephant grass" serves as a building material, pigments are traditionally milled using wind energy, and the studio is powered mostly by solar energy.
