The artwork of 3D illustrator Dan Lehy
Dan Lehy is a 3D illustrator based in the Netherlands, where he calls Flevoland, the world’s largest polder, his home. Inspired by the vast, open landscape that once was a sea, Dan creates home accessories that seamlessly blend artistry and functionality, enhancing both living and working spaces.
Dan’s work is a harmonious blend of modern innovation and timeless craftsmanship. By combining modern techniques like 3D printing with traditional methods such as plaster textures, he creates unique, accessible pieces that stand out for their beauty and utility. With a deep appreciation for classic stories and their enduring charm, his designs evoke a sense of a playfull surrealisme with a hint of a deeper meaning.

Working with sustainable materials

He carefully source and evaluate materials for their environmental impact, such as pigments ground using wind energy in a traditional way and elephant grass as a building material.

Working in the middle of
the largest ship graveyard
When the Flevopolder was drained, hundreds of shipwrecks emerged, revealing a hidden maritime history. These unearthed relics left a profound impression on Dan from a young age. His work reflects this deep fascination with the blend of historical grandeur and functional design, reimagined as abstract creations.
